Received a Box of Knives and Axes

I have replenished my supply of folding knives and camping axes.

Condor Axe, Spyderco Domino, Kershaw, HK Epidemic
Here is the group shot. We see a Condor Camping axe, a SOG Snarl neck or belt knife, and three boxes: HK Epidemic, Spyderco Domino, and two Kershaw Shuffles.

SOG Snarl Neck or Belt Knife
First at the plate is this SOG knife. It is called the Snarl, and it is a skeletonized (if that is not a word it is now) blade with two finger holes and two finger grips. There is a nylon sheath with a removable belt clip — so that the knife can be clipped on the belt, or on the neck with the included neck chain. A lot of knife in 1.9 ounces.

Kershaw Shuffle
Second at bat is the Kershaw Shuffle. This is an inexpensive knife with a lot of function. It has a wide blade with a thumb stud, a lanyard hole, and a bottle opener. All at a very low price.

An Awesome Box of Arno Bernard Knives Just Arrived!

I just received a box of Arno Bernard knives.

Box of Arno Bernard Knives
A picture of the box that the knives arrived in is not really very exciting — but here it is. On top of the box is one of the Arno Bernard catalogs or brochure.

Arno Bernard Knives
Here is a picture of the four knives that were in the box. This picture shows them in their sheaths. All of the Arno Barnard sheaths are made of cape buffalo leather, and all have a belt loop.

Four Arno Bernard Knives
This shot shows the knives partially pulled out of the sheather so that the handle material is more visible.

The handle material — from the top down — crocodile hide, giraffe bone, warthog ivory, and the smallest knife at the bottom has a mammoth ivory handle.

Arno Benard 'Great White' Knife with Crocodile Hide Handle
This knife is the 'Great White' knife with crocodile hide handle. The Great White is in the Predator series. The Great White is 8" overall length, the blade is 3.625"

Arno Bernard groups the knives he makes into different series, by size. The largest series is the 'Giant' series, the the Predator series, then the Grazer series, the Scavenger series, and the smallest is the Bush Baby series.

Arno Bernard Kudu Knife with Giraffe Bone Handle
This is the Kudu knife, with giraffe bone handle. The Kudu is in the Grazer series. The Kudu is 8" overall length, blade length of 3.857"

Arno Bernard Warthog with Warthog Ivory Handle
Here is the Warthog. This knife has a warthog handle. Grazer series. The Warthog is 7.625" long, a blade of 4"

Arno Bernard Dassie with Mammoth Ivory Handle
The little guy is a Dassie, one of my favorite Arno Bernard knives. This Dassie has a mammoth ivory handle. The Dassie is in the Bush Baby series.

All of the Arno Bernard knives are beautiful works of art and must be seen in person! Come see these and more at my mobile knife sharpening booth!

A Bunch of Vintage Carbon Steel Knives

I am always out looking for knives — and I have decided that I have too many 'generic' knives.

Vintage Carbon Steel Knives
Here is a set of seven of these knives. Three of these knives have a name marked on them that I can read; three have no visible name, and one has a name marked on the handle that I just can't read.

Collection of Vintage Carbon Steel Knives
Here is a picture of the flip side of these same knives.

The bottom knife, the cleaver, is marked Forgecraft. Forgecraft is a brand that is made by Ontario Knife. The filet knife is a Russell.

I had most of these knives offered for sale on my mobile knife sharpening booth's sale table from time to time, and I put a few of them up — one at a time — for sale on eBay. Since none of this group  have sold, I decided to put them up for sale as one lot on eBay.

Here is a picture of the auction on eBay. Let me see who will want these guys!

For you at home following along, the link to the eBay auction is here.

A New Box of Knifes Have Arrived: Helle and Wetterlings Axe

I came home to a box awaiting me. I knew what it was — tracking numbers and all. It is a box of Helle knives and a Wetterlings axe.

Helle Knives, Wetterlings Axe
I got four Helle knives and one Wetterlings axe. The Helle knives are in the tubes above the axe.

Helle 'Alden' Knife
This model is the Alden. It is a fixed blade stainless steel blade with a curly birch handle, leather sheath with a belt loop.

Helle Viking Fixed Blade Knife
Helle Viking. This is a carbon steel knife, and the blade is not polished after heat treating, so it has it's natural finish. Curly birch handle. The Viking's sheath has the Norwegian type belt loop — which is a loose leather loop. The advantage to this design is that it allows the knife/sheath free movement so that when you sit down or drive the sheath moves out of the way.

Helle Dokka Folding Knife
Helle — as I remember — makes only one folding knife, this Dokka. Curly birch handles and leather sheath.

Helle Temagami Fixed Blade Knife
The last knife is this Temagami fixed blade.

Wetterlings Backcountry Hatchet
The Wetterlings axe. This model is the Backcountry Hatchet.

Wetterlings Backcountry Hatchet
The Wetterlings ax has a leather sheath, here it is pictured with the sheath removed.
