Come Checkout My New Arno Bernard Knives

I just received a box, a box that contained three Arno Benard knives!

Arno Benard Knives: Zebra, Raven, Bush Baby

Here is a picture of the three. The top is a Zebra with a giraffe bone handle. The middle knife is a Raven with a giraffe bone handle, and the little guy at the bottom is a Bush Baby with warthog ivory handle.

The Bush Baby is pictured with a coin. This Bush Baby is a commemorative issue knife, celebrating Arno Benard's 20 years as a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa, the coin is a commemorative coin that accompanies the Bush Baby knife.

This picture shows the knives completely out of the sheaths, the sheaths are cape buffalo leather.

In this picture we find our hand model holding the Zebra knife.

All of these knives are some of the most beautiful knives one was ever seen — come find my mobile knife sharpening booth and check them out!

A New (Small) Shipment of Knives Just Hit the Door

UPS left me a box yesterday.

Opened Box of Knives

I got to admit I was a bit disappointed — it seemed to contain more packing paper than actual knives...

Anyway — here they are:

Old Hickory, Buck and byrd Knives
What was in the box — starting at the top — a set of Old Hickory carbon steel kitchen knives. I sell Old Hickory at my mobile knife sharpening booth. I like Old Hickory, they are inexpensive knives but that do all you need to do.

Next in line is a folding Buck knife, a Bucklite Max. This Buck knife — and the Old Hickory are made in the USA. The Old Hickory knives are made completely in the USA — all raw material, parts and labor are all USA!

The stainless steel folding knife is a byrd Flight. byrd is a line of knives designed by Spyderco — made in China so as to have a more attractive price.

The little guy at the bottom is a byrd Finch, sporting a black G-10 handle.

Here is a close up of just the folding knives.

And — in case anyone is interested — here (next to the potato) are the boxes that the knives are packed in.

An Unusual Knife Came in for Sharpening

This was brought to my mobile sharpening setup last Friday for sharpening:

Primitive Carbon Steel Machete

I'll call it a machete. It is carbon steel, a wood handle is bound to the tang with string, and the sheath is carved wood, and is also bound together with string.

Here is the knife outside of the sheath.

I really liked this knife — hated to see it go away...
