New Knives for The Mobile Knife Sharpening For Sale Table

I always have a table of  knives on display — for sale — when I set up my mobile knife sharpening.

On the table are kitchen knives, both new and used, and also always a nice assortment of folding and fixed blade knives.

New folding knives have arrived!

Boker Credit Card Knife
This is the Boker Credit Card Knife. It is a compact folding, plain edge knife. Includes a black key chain lanyard.

Boker Credit Card Knife, Folded
The Boker Credit Card Knife folded up. This is why it is called Credit Card knife — it is small and kind of sized and shaped like a credit card.

Heckler & Koch Ally
Heckler & Koch Ally. This is a compact, black stainless steel folding knife with a minimalist industrial look. It has a partially serrated blade, a lanyard holder and a glass breaker.

This view shows the large thumb hole for opening the Ally.

HK Epidemic — Closed
I received another HK Epidemic. This is a badass knife! It is an aluminum handled automatic knife.

HK Epidemic Knife
Here is the Epidemic opened. This is an automatic opening knife. The knife opens 'out the front.' Pushing the red lever forward causes the blade to open out the front of the handle, pulling the red lever back causes the blade to retract.

Boker Anti-Grav
Boker Anti-Grav. Ceramic blade, carbon fiber handle scales.

Boker Anti-Grav
The Boker Anti-Grav is a very light, elegant and beautiful folding pocket knife.

Boker Anti-Grav
Here is the Anti-Grav folded. Again — this knife is a feather light, elegant and beautiful folding pocket knife. A must have!

The other knives I ordered are back-ordered. Rats.

My Vacation is Over — Back to the Grindstone...

Back to Reality
OK everybody — my vacation is over.

I hope nobody was inconvenienced by my being away. My first day back working was Lunardi's San Bruno, and then Kirkwood Plaza in Campbell. Tomorrow is Gene's Fine Foods in Pleasanton.

Anyway, time to keep my nose to the grindstone and all those kind of sayings! I'm back to my regular schedule — so please look me up and bring me some knives or garden tools to sharpen!

The Knife Business in Peru

I went to Peru to visit a friend — did this and that — and also had to check out the knife business.

I went to the Central Market in Arequipa (all towns and cities in Peru have a Central Market) and tracked down the knife maker and the knife sharpener.

Knife Sharpener in Arequipa, Peru Central Market
This guy is a knife sharpener in the Central Market in Arequipa, Peru — and posed for a picture. He did not have any work in front of him, so I moved on.

Knife Sharpening and Knife Sales, Central Market, Arequipa, Peru
There where two knife sharpening booths in the Arequipa Central Market, this is the second one. This guy was busy when I was there, so did not have much opportunity to talk or take pictures. He was busy sharpening hedge clippers while I was there.

Handmade Knife Made in Arequipa's Central Market
I bought a knife from the guy. He sold knives that he bought from different sources — and he also made his own knives right in his booth in Arequipa's Central Market.

This knife is rather rustic, a thin, rather rough finished carbon steel blade with a wooden handle. The price can't be beat though, in Peruvian money it was S/ 4 (four Soles) which works out to $1.50 American dollars!

My Mobile Knife Sharpening Business Also Sells Used Knives

The main focus of my mobile knife sharpening business is just that — knife sharpening. But along with the knife sharpening I also sharpen garden tools, scissors, food processor blades and an assortment of other bladed tools.

But I want to remind people that I also sell knives. I offer Mundial kitchen knives, Boker, SOG, Spyderco and a handful of other sporting, pocket and fixed blade knives — BUT — I also always have a selection of USED knifes!

Used Knives: R. H. Forschner, Pocket Knives, Leatherman Tools
I took this picture of a section of my used knife display. The two knives in front are R. H. Forschners, the two fixed blade knives are Uni Corp on the left and P. Lepe on the right. Behind them are some folding pocket knives, a Swiss Army style knife, farther back is a Leatherman and then Wiss scissors.

All the used knives I offer have to make the cut as they say, which means they are in good condition, handles solid, blades have no cracks.

All of the knives are sharpened and cleaned.
